Radio Staging

Postby ahr43 » Mon Apr 07, 2014 6:36 pm

Something I've started doing while testing my 2014 stock dragster. Staging the car using the throttle trim knob instead of manually staging it. Kind fun. Adds realism and an additional challenge and variable to racing. After all, this is a 'radio control' sport, right? Allow myself one manual pull-back if I over stage. Then a second (and final) chance at radio staging.

I think I first saw Traxxas using this feature on their big FC. Thought it was kind of trick. And, after thinking about it came up with the above. FWIW. -AC-

Sounds good to me!! Would we need to start a 7 second stage rule for the other driver??

Why not, Paul? :D R/c drag racing has a lot of starting line strategy already. Add a little more into the mix. Some races are won before the tree even begins to count down.

I don't have access to a tree. Staging to a chalk line now. Not sure how this might work at an event. When the chance avails itself, it'll get a try during timing runs.
